  A girl became a volunteer in the activities of Deathbed Care, which meant visiting and taking care of a patient suffering from an incurable disease with days numbered.

  The girl was assigned to look after an old man suffering from cancer whose children lived abroad. Their living conditions were not satisfactory while the old man had a lot of savings. She was expected to comfort him and keep up his spirits.

  Every Saturday the girl came on time to keep him company, telling him stories. When he was having an intravenous drip(静脉滴注), she would help massage his arms. The doctor found the patient much improved mentally. The old man began to involve himself actively in the medical treatment and he seldom shouted at others.

  But something that happened made the doctor uneasy and puzzled. Each time the girl left, the old man would give her some money. The doctor did nothing to interfere, unwilling to offend the old man. A month later the old man showed evident signs of decline after suffering coma(昏迷) a few times.

  When rescued from the latest coma, the old man told the doctor his last wish,"I have deep sympathy for the girl. Will you be kind enough to help her finish her studies?"

  When the girl came at the weekend after the death of the old man, the doctor told her the bad news. She was very sad and burst into tears.   故事类阅读概念:

  这类文章一般描述的是某一件具体事情的发生发展或结局,有人物、时间、地点和事件。命题往往从故事的情节、人物或事件的之间的关系、作者的态度及意图、故事前因和后果的推测等方面着手,考查学生对细节的辨认能力以及推理判断能力。

  故事类阅读应试技巧:

  1、抓住文章的6个要素:阅读时要学会从事情本身的发展去理解故事情节而不要只看事件在文中出现的先后顺序。因此,无论是顺叙还是倒叙,阅读此类文章时,必须要找到它结构中的5个W(when, where, who, why,whan)和1个H(hw),不过不是每篇都会完整地交待六个要素。毫无疑问,寻出这些元素是能够正确快速解题的一个先决条件。

  2、注意作者的议论和抒情:高考英语阅读理解故事类文章常伴随着作者思想情感的流露和表达,因此议论和抒情往往夹杂其中。行文时或技事情发生发展的先后时间进行或按事情发生发展的地点来转换,也可能按事情发展的阶段来布局。在引出话题,讲完件事情后,作者往往会表达个人感悟或提出建议等。这些体现作者观点或思想的语句在阅时可以划线,它们往往体现文章中心或者写作意图,属于必考点,所以要仔细体会。

  3、结合前两点归纳文章中心:把握作者态度故事类文章是通过记叙一件事来表达中心思想的,它是文章的灵魂。归纳文章中心思想时,尤其要分析文章的结尾,因为很多文章卒章显志,用简短的以论、抒情周示文章中心;文章中议论抒情的句子往往与中心密切相关;也有的文章需要在结合概括各段大意的基础上归纳中心。另外,叙述一件事必有其目的,或阐明某观点,或赞美某种品德,或押击某种陋习,这就要求我们在阅读时,通过对细节(第1点中的六要素)的理解,把握作者的态度

  4 、有章有据进行解题判断: 分析文章,归纳主题,属于分析、概括、综合的表述能力的考查,切忌脱离文章,架空分析,一定让分析在文章中有依据。

  语法填空题型特点

  语法填空又称为开放式语篇填空, 该题型综合融入了单项填空和完形填空两种题型的特点,旨在考查考生在阅读理解的基础上,对语法、词汇和语用知识的掌握情况,着重考查考生的语言综合运用能力。语法填空题选用一篇200词左右的语言材料,设置10个空白,要求考生根据上下文填写空白所需的内容或用所给词的正确形式填空,将对语法知识、词汇知识的考查与篇章阅读能力的考查结合在一起,突出语篇,强调在语篇中的英语语言知识运用能力。选文以记叙文为主,涉及个人经历、人物故事等题材,大多是考生比较熟悉的话题。

  语法填空命题趋势

  1. 会更突出语境的作用,提供语境间接考查语言知识的运用。

  2. 可能会首句设题。从2015年开始,新课标全国卷语法填空篇首句开始有题目,增加了解题难度。

  3. 设空多样,覆盖全面。考查范围均为大纲中所列的语法项目:动词时态、非谓语形式、被动语态、情态动词、冠词、形容词、副词、代词、连词、复合句、习惯表达法等。

  4. 体裁固定,话题熟悉。近年高考语法填空题都是以记叙文和说明文为主,所选材料侧重有故事情节、行文逻辑强,用词合乎规范的短文,短文所述内容一般不会让考生感到陌生,并体现一定的文化内涵。

  备考建议

  1.记录错误,有备无患。

  考生在进入高三时就要备一本错题集,将自己在语法填空的练习中所犯的错误记录下来并改正,每次考前可拿出来浏览。

  2.研读真题,发现命题规律。

  高考真题是高考复习备考的最好资料。我们应该认真研究语法填空题的特点以及命题规律,并采取相应的策略和措施。通过做高考真题和样卷,让考生明白考点分布,发现命题规律,掌握做题技巧,增强信心。

  3.注重语法基础知识,积累习惯用法
